I ordered the Superfruit Soft Gel Cream from Ulta two months ago and the smell is extremely odd. I have purchased it before and it does not smell anything like it normally does. Also the consistency is much more watery (something I've also noticed with the JBCO leave in which I no longer purchase due to that fact). Has the formula changed and is there an expiration date?
(It was stored in a dark, cool place).
Thank you for contacting SheaMoisture. The SuperFruit Multivitamin Soft Gel Cream has not had a formula change. We do not have expiration dates on our products as a date does not mark the end of the efficacy of the product. With all natural ingredients, texture, color and scent will vary from batch to batch. This is due to when the ingredients are harvested. The change in soil, environment, and other factors can alter the ingredient slightly but they will not change the efficacy. Shea Butter, our company’s main ingredient, can be a little more liquid in texture or solid due to its fatty acid composition so a more liquid product is normal. If you are unable to use the product, please contact the retailer for an exchange or refund.

Thank you for contacting SheaMoisture. Our products currently do not have a printed expiration date on them as our products do not have a date when they lose their efficacy. When using a product, we recommend using it within 12 months from when it is opened. The lot number is a randomized number for us to check on its batch, it doesn’t reference any type of expiration date. If you would like us to check on when it was manufactured, provide the lot number and we can check on that for you.
