Risk of Emulsifying Wax

Di Aug 15, 2017 06:44PM EDT

Hi, Before this is no Emulsifying Wax in your lotion, but I just realized you change your ingredient and added Emulsifying Wax. If i am not mistaken, it is toxic. Why would you add toxic ingredient to baby lotion? We love your product but right now its no longer safe to use.

Hope you can change it back.

Hi Di,
Thank you for contacting SheaMoisture. Emulsifying wax is a completely safe, non-toxic ingredient used to help water bind to other ingredients. The only reason it is getting a bad name is due to some companies using less clean versions to produce their products. Our emulsifying wax is vegetable derived and sourced from EWG. We assure you that all our products are researched fully and use the highest quality natural ingredients to bring safe, clean skin and hair care products.
Thank you again for reaching out to us and for showing concern over what products you use for personal care. If you have any other questions, please let us know.
Best regards,
