At home hair care for mixed porosity hair.

GhanaGirl Apr 03, 2018 06:43PM EDT

Hello. I have long relaxed Afro-Indian hair that is also of mixed porosity (low, normal and high). My hair is heat- styled professionally 3 to 4 out of 10 times, other times i wash/condition and air dry. When air dried the top half is coarser than the bottom half and resembles a 3b curl pattern while the bottom half is finer with a 3c curl pattern. Sometimes i have dry and itchy scalp and other times my problem is product buildup and dry hair. The needs of my hair are mixed. What product line would you recommend that could potentially fulfil all my hair needs during the times that i need to air dry my hair at home. I don't mind if each product is from a different line, I just want something that works. Thank you

Thank you for contacting SheaMoisture. We recommend starting with either the African Black Soap line:, or the African Water Mint & Ginger line: two collections will help remove any buildup while preventing buildup. These two lines will also help soothe any irritation such as an itchy scalp. They both, and all our other hair collections, contain shea butter, coconut oil, and other ingredients that will help keep your hair and scalp nourished. For a leave in, we recommend using products such as the Fruit Fusion Coconut Water Weightless Texture Spray:, or the African Water Mint & Ginger Detox & Refresh Scalp Elixir: You can use either of these sprays to help keep your hair nourished when you hair dry and because they are lightweight, they won’t cause as much buildup. So staring off with either the African Black Soap Shampoo and Conditioner or the African Water Mint & Ginger Shampoo and conditioner, you can use one of those leave-in sprays for extra nourishment and longer lasting moisture after drying.
Thank you again for reaching out to us! If you have any other questions, please let us know.
Best regards,
