I miss the old version of these products terribly. Given all of the negative feedback on your new formula, will you consider going back to the old one? It would mean a lot to those of us who have loved this product for years, and those of us with fragrance sensitivities/allergies. I hate that I'm going to have to search for a new shampoo to buy.
For reference, the bottle I'm referencing the old formula from reads LOT 77456
Thank you for contacting SheaMoisture. Currently we are not producing our Argan Oil & Raw Shea collection as it is discontinued. As an alternative, our Raw Shea Butter collection is a great option to provide deep hydration for hair. The products we provide are still formulated with high quality, natural ingredients including vegetable butters, plant extracts, and of course, organic shea butter. When producing products with natural materials, the color, texture and scent will vary from batch to batch. The only thing that has changed is that as our small family-owned company has grown into a larger family, we have changed our labels to be compliant with global regulations on how we list our ingredients. In order for all companies around the world to be consistent, we are required to use a specific set of names for things called the INCI list: the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients. Because this list is used around the world in many languages, the words can be a little unfamiliar and technical-sounding. So for example, our sugar beet cleanser is now listed as decyl glucoside. Even something as simple as Neem Oil, a favorite scalp treatment, becomes Melia Azadirachta Seed Oil. Yes, the label now sounds different and a lot more like chemicals, but these are the same safe natural ingredients we have always used, just with different names. The arrangement of the ingredients is also affected by the compliance so while the list may be rearranged slightly, the product will still provide the same benefits as before.
Thank you again for reaching out to us and showing concern over these changes. We appreciate your feedback and if you have any other questions, please let us know.
