Specifically the old rendition of Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Body Lotion w/Frankincense & Myrrh

Terry Schoenleber Apr 30, 2019 10:18AM EDT

I have used the Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Body Lotion w/Frankincense & Myrrh for years. I am 64 years young and would like to keep it that way. I have run out of my lotion and can't find it any where !!! I have purchased the "new and improved" lotion that goes by the same name and it isn't worth a plug nickel. The lotion I used was yellow in color and had a thicker texture than the "new and improved" variety that is now called the same product. You must have changed the formula. I am saddened if you did. My face is that of a forty year old, my kids are older than that. Hardly any wrinkles and I just had a cancerous tumor removed on my forehead. The wrinkles are minimal, the scar is minimal, and I still am a soap and water kind of woman all because of your fabulous lotion. I have a 100 acre ranch with all the trimmings and that lotion has saved most parts of my body from looking like a weathered woman.
So my question you still make the old formula or do I have to go on the look for another product. Or do the stores that I shop (Fred Meyer, Target, Macy's etc) simply not carry it? I have used all your other products that I see on the shelves and none of it is the same.
Best Regards, Terry

Hi Terry,
Thank you for contacting SheaMoisture. The Raw Shea Butter Hydrating Body Lotion, along with all our other products we provide, are still formulated with high quality, natural ingredients including vegetable butters, plant extracts, and of course, organic shea butter. When producing products with natural materials, the color, texture and scent will vary from batch to batch. The only thing that has changed is that as our small family-owned company has grown into a larger family, we have changed our labels to be compliant with global regulations on how we list our ingredients. In order for all companies around the world to be consistent, we are required to use a specific set of names for things called the INCI list: the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients. Because this list is used around the world in many languages, the words can be a little unfamiliar and technical-sounding. So for example, our sugar beet cleanser is now listed as decyl glucoside. Even something as simple as Neem Oil, a favorite scalp treatment, becomes Melia Azadirachta Seed Oil. Yes, the label now sounds different and a lot more like chemicals, but these are the same safe natural ingredients we have always used, just with different names. The arrangement of the ingredients is also affected by the compliance so while the list may be rearranged slightly, the product will still provide the same benefits as before.
Thank you again for reaching out to us and showing concern over these changes. We appreciate your feedback and if you have any other questions, please let us know.
Best regards,
