Did you guys change formula's or can I still get the old product I loved? After searching and searching for a clean shampoo (one with few ingredients and no chemicals) I found Shea Moisture: Raw butter Moisture retention Shampoo w/ Sea kelp and Argan Oil. I fell in love with this product because it had few ingredients, it was clean and chemical free and it smelled great. Now I can't find it anywhere. I just tried to order what I thought was the same product but it has so much crap in the ingredients list and now the 3rd ingredient is Soudium Lauroyl Lacylate which I am allergic to. This shampoo is making me break out in a rash. Did you change formula's or can you please tell me where to find my old shampoo? It took me so long to find the first one. If you switched formula's Please bring back the old one.
Thank you for contacting SheaMoisture. SheaMoisture continues to make the same natural products it always have, that feature botanically-derived ingredients like vegetable butters, plant extracts, and of course organic shea butter. The only thing that has changed is that as our small family-owned company has grown into a larger family, we have changed our labels to be compliant with global regulations on how we list our ingredients. In order for all companies around the world to be consistent, we are required to use a specific set of names for things called the INCI list: the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients. Because this list is used around the world in many languages, the words can be a little unfamiliar and technical-sounding. So for example, our sugar beet cleanser is now listed as decyl glucoside. Even something as simple as Neem Oil, a favorite scalp treatment, becomes Melia Azadirachta Seed Oil. Yes, the label now sounds different and a lot more like chemicals, but these are the same safe natural ingredients we have always used, just with different names. The arrangement of the ingredients is also affected by the compliance so while the list may be rearranged slightly, the product will still provide the same benefits as before.
Thank you again for reaching out to us and showing concern over these changes. We appreciate your feedback and if you have any other questions, please let us know.
